We also have rain and lots of it so between the wet and the heat exterior wood will expand and contract causing old caulking to crack, which will lead to moisture getting inside the wood, and eventually causing water damage to the structure. Now you not only have to paint but you end up replacing wood that has been damaged so you always want to protect the outside of your property by maintaining the paint job on the exterior of your home.

The strips in this kids room look great with the colors in the room. The textured walls make striped a little more difficult.

Children’s room with a multi-colored glaze faux finish.

A classic beige color with an off white ceiling will always be a timeless look. The beige wall also makes the crown molding pop.

Entry to the dining room using multi colors really makes this house more interesting. Don’t be afraid to add color it can make a world of difference.

Here is one more example of how Bella Plaster from Pro Faux product line can turn a kitchen into an old Italian Villa.

The hand trowel texture in this kitchen with the Tuscany colors gives this home a very classic look. Texture is a great way to add beauty to any room.

We incorporated a combination of pigments to come up with this custom look that just made the room very warm and cozy. We later went back and did a similar finish in the powder bath.

Deep red is a very powerful color and had been a choice for some homes for years. We have painted many formal dining rooms deep red.

Venetian Plaster

We went from off white paint to an elegant finish and custom colors that we applied from ground pigments.

Hand trowel texture with color added and a satin wax top coat for protection. This finish works well as an accent in any home. We can match any color and this finish is very popular where a touch of elegance is desired.

Old World Glazed Finish

The original surface was old tired wallpaper so we prepared the walls and textured them and applied a base coat followed by a glaze coat and the end result was a beautiful kitchen where the walls matched the granite counter tops. This is a good example of the dramatic change texture and color can add to a tired room.

With a new look we updated this kitchen by giving the walls an old world texture and matching the granite counter tops with similar glazes.

Think Rich, Deep Colors

The days of painting with safe, neutral colors are over! Today, progressive designers recognize the importance and necessity of deep, rich quality colors adorning the surfaces to bring life to a home.

Up until the late 1990’s, most designers and painters chose the safe route, selecting neutral shades so the color on given items in the space would stand out and not compete or clash with the paint. In effect, the neutral paint shades acted as a backdrop instead of as an integral part of the color scheme. But over the past seven years, designers have come to recognize that surfaces to be painted clearly comprise a large amount of the exposed footage of a space. Thus, they should be coordinated with the furniture, floor coverings, window treatments, accent pieces, pillows, lamps and accessories.

Rich, deep greens, purples, reds, blues and other intense colors, unlike passive neutrals, can uplift people’s moods, according to many studies. Even smaller rooms can appear larger with these deeper colors as long as they’re properly contrasted with lighter trim and furniture. Contrary to popular belief, it’s not the lighter, neutral colors that make a room seem larger but the contrast among the different shades of paint, furniture and other items in the room.

One of the reasons for the color boom is the flood of television makeover shows and four-color displays in newspapers and magazines, which have conditioned people’s eyes to accept and embrace these richer and deeper colors. Television viewers and newspaper/magazine readers, who are exposed almost daily to these new color trends, are more likely to take the risks with their color.
